How to fix a scratch / nick in a walnut rifle butt?
I'm holding my then most things about keeping in good condition. I have a scratch / nick in my rifle satin walnut stock about 1 / 3 inch long. Any suggestions would be appreciated result. I do not want pulls down the entire population (not have the time, skills or money to do so). Thanks in advance for your help!
The routine damp cloth and iron dents will work, but do not know how good it will do at first. You can buy scratch repair crayons and powders that are used to repair furniture scratch cover. Consult a carpenter or furniture store with a repair shop for details, has been almost 25 years since I used the material so I've forgotten the brand. But personally, I would go there as a reminder of a good day of hunting. Most of my rifles have some scratches and a dent or two. And most of them have a story to go along with them. I think they are badges of honor gained in the fields of hunting and I think they add character to the time of guns to spoil their appearance. Doc
