How to identify Original Gibson Guitar?
Last week I found myself in a Gibson Guitar Store. In the back of his head, which is impressed "Serial Number 90726014 Manufactured in the USA" is original guitar and actually incurred in the U.S.?
If this information was recorded at the neck, is probably the real deal. The serial number makes sense, but indicates that the guitar was made on the 72th day of 1996 was the 14th guitar made that day. The way to read the serial number is: Where the Y --- Y YDDDYRRR indicate the year, DDD is the day of the year was done, and RRR indicate the factory / Ranking. For the serial number, this should be an acoustic guitar made in Bozeman, Montana, and would have been the 14th guitar made that day. If this is in a power, then there is a problem with the serial number and might be a forgery. If you have any questions, call Gibson with the serial number and a description the guitar and tell if it's a real Gibson or not. There are a lot of fakes floating around .... Greetings Good luck.
