Fender Fender American Deluxe Bridge Bridge vs Mexican Standard?
I have a Fender Mexican Standard Stratocaster. I intend to change the bridge assembly complete a Fender American Deluxe bridge. My question is: Will it work? The bridge from Mexico has 6 pivot screws and American Deluxe bridge only 2. Please respond only if you know for sure. Thank you.
Hello! Since only wanted answers from people who are not sure (apparently there too many out there, judging by the lack of answers), I must say that I have not personally done this modification! However, I can with relative certainty that his Stratocaster MIM has the typical 1/16-inch chain 2 spacers, which would be compatible with the U.S. luxury bridge. Of course, you will definitely need to dowel the holes (not just fill them with wood putty) on the left by the existing bridge to allow the new fulcrum point two checkpoints screw. If done correctly, the new bridge assembly will hide most of the evidence of the previously installed mounting locations six points. In my opinion, you will be much better with a new bridge Wilkinson (see http://www.axesrus.com/axehardware.htm http://www.jhs.co.uk/wilkinson.html and examples), leaving six-point arrangement in place. I am a big fan of the bridge Luxury (pop-in arm, solid steel chairs, set of two fulcrum point), having improved both my U.S. Normalization with this agreement, however, when he came to my 1957 re-edition (with the bridge of six points), who decided to use WVP6SBCR Wilkinson (2 string spacing 7/32-inch) and have been very satisfied with the greater stability and smoothness of operation.
