While paying true homage and giving due deference and respect to the classic features and the spirit of innovation from the golden Leo Fender era, Fender also pledged to continue that spirit of innovation and classic quality using the best modern technology available.

The American Standard Precision brings the past qualities of the classic bass that started it all to the present. Reviewing again, some of the American Standard P Bass features include, Fender’s new high mass vintage bridge (HMV), premium ash or alder wood bodies for beautiful tone and great sustain, thinner undercoat finnish to enhance bass breathability and wood to wood connection & reaction.
Like all American Standard Series instruments, the P Bass neck is graphite reinforced. It also has rolled edges giving a comfortable broken in feel from first play. The fretboard once again can be had in either rosewood or maple.
The headstock utilizes Fenders own Hipshot tuning keys, these keys are 30% lighter reducing neck dip.
